SMS Consent Proof
What is SMS consent proof?
SMS consent proof is the recorded evidence that a contact agreed to receive text messages from a business. Carriers, aggregators, and regulators (TCPA, A2P 10DLC) require businesses to be able to produce this evidence on demand for any phone number they message.
What URBLD records at the moment of consent
When a lead, customer, or employee opts in through an URBLD-managed surface (web form, customer portal, employee onboarding, or in-app profile), URBLD captures: the exact disclosure text shown, a consent version identifier, the timestamp, the phone number, the source page or form, the channel (web form, portal, onboarding, profile), the related lead/customer/employee record, and the IP address and user agent where available.
Why consent proof matters
If a recipient complains or a carrier audits a campaign, the business must show the exact text the contact agreed to and when. Without proof, messages can be blocked, numbers can be deactivated, and the business can be exposed to TCPA penalties. URBLD stores consent rows alongside the contact so the evidence is retrievable per phone number.
How consent proof connects to leads and customers
Every consent row is bound to a Lead, Customer, or Employee record via the platform's lifecycle ID. When URBLD sends an SMS, it checks for an active consent record for that number on that consent type before the message leaves the system. Numbers without active consent are not messaged through automated flows.
Opt-out and STOP handling
URBLD honors STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT replies automatically and immediately marks the consent row revoked with a timestamp. HELP returns a help message. Opt-out is durable per phone number and per consent type, and it is recorded the same way consent is — so the business has proof of both the opt-in and the opt-out.
What this page is not
This page is not legal advice. URBLD provides the recording, storage, and enforcement infrastructure, but each business remains responsible for its own TCPA, A2P 10DLC, CTIA, and carrier compliance, including the wording of its disclosures and the campaigns it registers.
